Vote Komodo for New 7 Wonder

Former vice president Jusuf Kalla wants the home of the Komodo dragon to be named a wonder of the world to promote development.

“We need to support Komodo to be voted one of the seven wonders of the world so that we can lift the prosperity level of people in East Nusa Tenggara [NTT],” Kalla said in television show of "Bukan Empat Mata".

“Vote komode for Indonesia, press KOMODO and send it to 9818. One text message from you will help develop NTT, Rp1/sms only” he said.

Kalla asked indonesians to support it, saying the island needed at least 100 million votes to be named one of the seven natural wonders of the world.

Komodo competes with 27 other finalists. The last voting will be closed on November 11, 2011.

World Summit Batik 2011 to Indonesia Global Home of Batik

World Batik Summit will be held, in September 28th to October 2nd, 2011, in  Jakarta. This biennial exhibition is agenda of Indonesia Batik Foundation and also a part of Word Batik Summit.

Super Full Moon a Distance of Rare Beauty

According to Science News of Nasa, on March 19th, a full Moon of rare size and beauty will rise in the east at sunset. It's a super "perigee moon"--the biggest in almost 20 years.

Full Moons vary in size because of the oval shape of the Moon's orbit. It is an ellipse with one side (perigee) about 50,000 km closer to Earth than the other (apogee): diagram. Nearby perigee moons are about 14% bigger and 30% brighter than lesser moons that occur on the apogee side of the Moon's orbit.
